Job Description Summary The Anesthesia Technician I (ATI) reports to the Anesthesia Technician Supervisor. Under limited supervision, the Anesthesia Technician I assist licensed anesthesia providers in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and Anesthesia delivery systems. The ATI assists in the acquisition, preparation, assembly, including the routine stocking of supplies to operating rooms and NORA sites, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. The ATI assists in the transport of patients to and from critical areas of the hospital. The ATI responds to areas of care outside of the operating room. This role performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist anesthesia providers in performing anesthetic procedures for diverse patient populations. The ATI functions in an acute care environment requiring effective communication and ability to prioritize actions.

Additional Job Description High school diploma or equivalent. One year of direct patient care experience, in a healthcare facility; or supply experience in a healthcare setting or work experience with medical equipment/supplies; or college coursework in biology, physiology, anatomy or related scientific field; or an Associate degree; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Anesthesia technician experience preferred. Compliance in maintaining BLS and any other annual competencies is mandatory. Failure to abide by MUHA policies are subject to disciplinary action, including termination. Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain a Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent).
