Marcus & Millichap is seeking a
Copy Editor to join its industry-leading Research Services team in
Phoenix . We are looking for a candidate who shares our passion for delivering high-quality, insightful research reports and articles that our clients can use to make better-informed investment decisions.
Responsibilities: - Serve as final gatekeeper by reviewing a variety of research reports to ensure high quality and error-free deliverables across North America
- Copyedit and proofread research materials for clarity, grammar, consistency, accuracy, and tone
- Abridge content to fit within size restrictions
- Proofread and edit charts and graphs
- Recommend edits based on knowledge of target audience, as well as internal conventions and external style guide (AP style)
- Serve as a resource to help coach and guide Research Analysts to improve their writing skills
- Coordinate process flow to ensure all tasks are completed on time
- Develop and maintain department style guides and documentation
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or related field preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent grammar and syntax
- Exceptional attention to detail, process orientation, and organizational skills
- Capability to manage unpredictable workload and meet established deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to complete projects accurately and on time
- Desire to coordinate production schedules, track deliverables, solve problems and escalate issues where appropriate
- Communicate and collaborate in a team setting
- In-depth knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and AP style guide
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator, and MS Office
- Experience in commercial real estate or business writing/copy editing preferred
