All About You

JOB SUMMARY

Under immediate supervision, provide exemplary patient care and assist dentists during examination and treatment of patients; prepares clinical areas, instruments, and materials; under general supervision, provides imaging services. Utilize four-handed dentistry; periodontal charting and instruct patients in oral hygiene and have a firm grasp of dental procedures. Professionally communicate with Dental Assistant team, faculty, and residents, while providing exemplary patient care.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize special solutions and sterilization bags. Dispose of biohazard accordingly and maintain infection control
• Preparing operatories and instrument trays for procedures for multiple disciplines
• Review schedule for each discipline to properly prepare for the day. Minimal periodontal charting
• Clean, oil, sterilize equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

•Excellent communications skills

•Team player and ability to multi-task.

•Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology

•Ability to operate dental equipment

•Ability to provide imaging services

•Ability to maintain infection control and sterilization of dental equipment

•the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA policy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Additional training beyond high school diploma; supplemented with six (6) months of experience or training as a dental assistant.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification is a plus, not required
