Job Description Serves as a member of the Organization's nursing leadership team. Responsible for patient care
delivery, planning, and evaluation of clinical services for the regional float pool program.
Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing service line
and/or department improvements within multi and/or specialty units of responsibility.
Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and
evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical
practice and patient care for a nursing unit that is consistent with the ANA Scope of Practice, American
Organization of Nurse Executive (AONE) Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and American Nurses
Credentialing Center Magnet Standards. Collaborates with and supports director and key leaders, groups and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals, and objectives.

Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. - Serves as a member of the nursing leadership team to participate and give
feedback into the development and implementation of the nursing strategic plan,
implementation of change and inform departmental decision-making. Supports
the development and implementation of the nursing mission, vision, values and
strategic, short and long-term goals and objectives, standards of care, and
operating plans for the Float Pool Dept. - Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team and unit staff in the
development, implementation, and monitoring of unit operating and capital
budgets. - Develops, implements, and manages ongoing measurement, action planning,
and evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of
budget, productivity, associate engagement, patient satisfaction, workplace
safety, healthy work environments, and clinical outcome targets for the Float Pool
department. - Develops, implements, and monitors plans related to education and required
competencies, orientation, retention, cultural competence, conflict management,
and coaching of associates to ensure staffing for safe, superior and preeminent
quality patient care for the Float pool department. - Ensures the recruitment, retention, development, mentoring, succession planning
for and engagement of quality patient care associates within the assigned clinical
unit. Develops, promotes, and implements an environment of shared leadership
and decision- making. - Participates in evaluating, selecting and integrating health care technology and
information systems that support patient care. - In collaboration with the director, interdisciplinary team members, and Quality
Department associates, facilitates, develops, directs, manages, and monitors the
implementation of effective evidence-based programs, policies, and protocols, to
measure, analyze and continuously improve the safety and quality of patient care
in the Float Poo Dept demonstrated through empiric outcomes. - Communicates and collaborates on a regular basis with nursing leaders, ancillary
department leaders, associates, and other identified stakeholders' achievements
and concerns related to patient safety, quality, patient loyalty, associate
engagement, and satisfaction throughout the assigned region. Develops and
implements action plans to address concerns utilizing a shared decision-making
model. - Participates in organization decision-making workgroups to implement
improvement changes within the organization. - Other duties as needed and assigned by the Director of float pool/VP Patient
Care Services, Chief Nursing Officer. - Ensures compliance with all healthcare standards and requirements established
by various licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies. Maintains a working
knowledge of Health Organizational Integrity Programs, Standards of Conduct, as
well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner
that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree required and MBA or Master's preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare leadership experience is required.
