Client Information:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) focus on high impact prevention of HIV-by preventing new HIV infections, improving health outcomes for persons with HIV, and reducing HIV related disparities and health inequities.
DHP develops and maintains a variety of data and information systems to support its mission, including systems to collect, transmit, store, and analyze data for HIV/AIDS surveillance, epidemiology, and program monitoring and evaluation. We are looking for IT and public health partners including statisticians, researchers, behavioral scientists, computer scientists, public health advisors/analysts, budget analysts, and other program staff.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce compelling, visually appealing graphic content for a variety of media including web, print, and digital platforms within the CDC's DHAP.
- Collaborate closely with the communications team to create graphic designs that effectively communicate public health messages and initiatives.
- Manage multiple design projects from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and branding guidelines.
- Use graphic design software and tools to create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations that help deliver desired messages.
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements when necessary, and provide expertise in the selection of color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within a healthcare, public health, or government setting.
- Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise in graphic design and visual communication.
- Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with HTML and CSS.
Preferred:
- Experience designing for web and mobile platforms, with an understanding of design principles related to user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.
- Background in working on educational or public awareness campaigns, particularly in the health sector.
- Certification in Adobe Creative Suite or other relevant graphic design software.
