We are looking for a Full Time Heavy Equipment And Truck Mechanic

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily shop operations. Work with Owner and Drivers to prioritize and schedule repairs.
• Troubleshoot, Test & Perform routine maintenance and repairs of trucks and equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components.
• Repair, overhaul or replace malfunctioning, damaged equipment or worn parts.
• Monitor inventory. Order parts and supplies required to properly maintain fleet.
• Work with vendors to assure parts are acceptable quality and at best price available.
• Estimate time and cost of repairs to create Repair Orders. Attach related invoices for billing.
• Maintain shop records of all work performed on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance.
• Fabricate, weld, paint, modify and repair body and chassis components.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns. Repair or replace parts needed to return vehicle back to service or prepare vehicle for towing.
• Promote safety in the shop and maintain a clean work environment.
• Keep drivers informed of any related mechanical issues or any new equipment.
• Perform other work as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and take direction in a fast paced environment.
• Able to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of production.
• Demonstrate flexibility, common sense, and good judgment.
• Basic knowledge of the operation and preventative maintenance of equipment and related tools.
• Must be able to follow and relay oral and written instructions, policies and procedures.
