Job Description
STV's Kentucky operation is seeking to immediately hire a Land Survey Technician. This position entails working with another field surveyor and crew chief performing field surveys in support of land development, transportation, utility, energy, and land surveying projects using conventional, GPS, or terrestrial laser scanning methodology.
Requirements :
- 1 + years of experience is a required
- Familiarity with ALTA or Land Title Surveys - general understanding of how to locate improvements on land and finding property corners, including interpreting deed maps and plats
- Learning the instruments and skills of Land Surveying either through mentoring or education:
- Performing minor survey computations
- Familiarity with Topographic Surveys -
- Experience with Construction Staking
- Experience with robotic instruments and GPS experience
- Ensure the preparation of accurate, complete, and value-added work products by:
- completing and improving assigned portions of the document delivery process as directed.
- Performing the necessary research and analyses to deliver work accurately and completely checking work before it is reviewed by others.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
Preferred Experience :
- Experience with type of field equipment - use of Trimble is a plus
- Civil 3D or Carlson CADD experience is a plus
- Drone use of is a plus
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- Must have excellent attention to detail and strong ability to ensure accuracy
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally
- Must be dependable and responsible regarding punctuality and attendance
Hours & Travel: - Working hours: M-T 7-5 (10-hour work day)
- Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.
- Travel generally up to two weeks at a time may be required for position, up to 50% of the time
Compensation Range:
$38,538.00 - $51,384.00
