Job Overview:Monitors the factory's performance,determine manpower needs and strengthen and develop the organization'sproduction & planning structure. Develops, implants, and improvesmanufacturing production processes and methods
Responsibilities:
- Assist management in manpower distribution toachieve efficiency goals
- Assures product and process quality by designingtesting methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturingprocesses
- Contributes to product and process quality designtesting methods
- Develops best practices to improve productioncapacity, quality and reliability
- Develops planning standards, methods, and procedures
- Drive the implementation of continuous improvementprocesses for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment
- Evaluates current production activities and makerecommendations for improvements
- Heavily involved in medium-scale projects frombeginning to end
- Investigates problems, analyzes root causes andderives resolutions. Will use 8D Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainable quality products
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
- Performs a variety of moderately complex tasksrelying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Periodically ensures that highly technical equipmentmeets required specifications and high quality standards
- Plans workplaces considering ergonomics
- Proposes cost reduction initiatives whilemaintaining high quality standards
- Provides guidance to team members to accomplishproduction goals
- Provides input for budget preparation and monitorexpenses and profitability
- Stayscurrent with product specifications, engineering technology and productionprocesses
- Supportsoperational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives
- Supportsthe design, documentation, and implementation of medium-scale manufacturingprocesses. Checks feasibility of productchanges
- Willperform other duties as assigned
- Writesspec books; requests and evaluation of supplier quotations
Qualifikationen
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial,Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or otherrelevant degree required*.
- 3-5 years of relevant experiencerequired, strongly preferring automotive, such as Body in White, Paint, andAssembly. 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
- Able to perform the essentialfunctions of the job.
- Experienceand knowledge of manufacturing methods/procedures and process technology
- Abilityto present technical information a plus
- Provenwritten and verbal communication at all levels within the organization withgood negotiation skills
- Ableto anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions
- Knowledgeof joining technologies such Mig/Mag, spot, and laser welding, and gluing aplus
- Experiencein dimensional accuracy desired
- Useof value stream mapping to identify opportunities for waste reduction is a plus

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprintervans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz andFreightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled atthis location.
Mercedes-BenzVans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a newSprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assemblyoperations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, locatednext to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility willprovide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create atleast 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers
Morethan 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered todestinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest marketfor Sprinter vans, after Germany.
