Senior Archaeology Manager San Francisco Bay Area, CA ICF is currently seeking a senior Archaeology Manager to be based in our San Francisco, CA office, or working remotely in California. The successful candidate will provide regional technical leadership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment on some of the region's most influential and complex environmental compliance projects. Working in tandem with regional leadership for ICF's Cultural Resources Management team the Bay Area senior archaeologist will provide technical leadership for a staff of at least three (up to five) full-time archaeologists, serve as task lead on current projects, help pursue new work and manage our future pipeline, and collaborate with senior architectural history staff in the region. Job Description The Senior Archaeology Manager will join a team of cultural resources practitioners who collaborate across Northern California sub-geographies (including the central coast, Sacramento and central valley, northern California, and the Sierras) and across CRM disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a balance of experience in archeological evaluation and analysis, project and personnel management, as well as business development as they will serve as a manager and mentor to junior- and mid-level ICF cultural resources professionals and help grow our Cultural Resources practice in Northern California. The Senior Archaeology Manager will provide cultural resource management services as a client-facing technical lead, with capabilities that include project management and senior-level technical expertise in both the archaeology discipline and environmental regulatory compliance. This role will also assist on or lead the preparation of proposals, communication with clients, and tracking project budgets and schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the archaeology of northern California and regulatory compliance, and a capacity for managing projects and client relationships. Key responsibilities Provide senior-level archaeology technical services in field and office settings. Evaluate resources for National Register of Historic Places and California Register of Historical Resources, develop resource management recommendations, assess project effects on resources, and provide high level support to address complex resource challenges that require advanced technical or regulatory knowledge. Contribute towards business development efforts within subject matter expertise, participation in events and conferences, and outreach to teaming partners. Perform QA/QC for reports or documents prepared by others. Manage projects related to environmental compliance and resource management, including client contact, budget control, invoicing, schedule, personnel allocation/planning, public interest facilitation, technical approach development, and subcontractor involvement. Recruit, supervise, and mentor staff; collaborate with other ICF regional leads to ensure that the Cultural Resources practice maintains a robust and varied blend of capabilities. Collaborate with internal and external clients to achieve long-term objectives and efficiencies. Basic Qualifications Master's or PhD in Archaeology or related field. Registered Professional Archaeologist certification preferred. 10+ years of experience in cultural resources management. 3+ years of experience project management with a thorough understanding of cultural resource regulatory compliance. Additional/Skills Experience History working with private and public sector clients, and regulatory agencies. Experience managing technical staff. Working knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, NHPA, and other state and federal environmental regulations. Strong fieldwork skills including pedestrian and subsurface survey, testing and evaluation, as well as a working knowledge of GPS. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with northern California native American tribes, regional cultural resources, and the regulatory environment of California. Creativity in applying archaeological concepts to address regulatory requirements. Leadership and mentoring skills to contribute to a progressive work environment for employee development and career fulfillment. Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $96,060.00 - $163,302.00 San Francisco, CA (CA78)
