-time Dental Assistant :
Pediatric Dentistry of Albany in
Albany, NY This position earns
$20 to 25.00/hour , depending on experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience as a dental assistant OR certification as a registered dental assistant
- Dental X-Ray License strongly preferred
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge in Practice Management Charting
- Experience in Treatment Planning strongly preferred
- Assists dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed
- Ability to complete documentation promptly and accurately
- Ability to use sound judgement; possess a calm disposition and the ability to work easily with others

Dental Assistant Responsibilities: - Primarily responsibility is to assist the providers and be always present with patients in room at all times
- Greet patients in waiting area and escorts patients to operatory
- Assists dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed
- Promotes an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene; questioning patients to ascertain home care status, instructing patients in techniques of flossing, and brushing.
- Maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures
- Review patient's health history, make chart entries under the direction of the operator and assure completion of forms and signatures
- Familiarize the patient with the aspects of their dental visit and provide support and compassion as needed
- Assist Dental Hygienist as needed; taking X-rays, getting patient seated and prepped for prophylaxis, setting up/cleaning treatment room
- Stock operatory and maintain clinical supply inventory. Communicate with office staff and vendors to insure prompt receipt of all orders
- Review daily schedule and set up appropriate trays and instruments
- Assist with front office procedures as requested
- Maintains patient confidence and protects patient and company by keeping information confidential
- Conduct preventative maintenance on dental equipment
- Complies with all company policies and procedures
